Since arriving in Australia in 1978, Katica Perinac has been a dedicated and active member of the Croatian community in the state of Victoria.

She has taught the Croatian language at the Victorian School of Languages since 1980 and at Holy Family Primary School Bell Park in Geelong since 1985. For the past 25 years, she has also served as Learning Diversity Leader at Holy Family Primary School, supporting students with disabilities.

Katica is a former President of the Croatian Language Teachers’ Association in Victoria and has been a member of the association since 1996. She is the author of the Croatian Language curriculum from Prep to Grade Six at Holy Family School and has authored and co-authored several Croatian language workbooks for the Victorian School of Languages.

She was a member of official delegations from the State of Victoria to the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Croatia in 2008, 2012, and 2017. These visits aimed to establish a Teacher Assistant Program and secure financial support for the Croatian Language Program integrated into the mainstream curriculum at Holy Family Bell Park, Geelong — the only such program of its kind since 1978.

In 2003, she received recognition from the State of Victoria for her significant contribution to the preservation of the Croatian language and cultural identity.

Od dolaska u Australiju 1978. godine, Katica Perinac aktivna je i predana članica hrvatske zajednice u saveznoj državi Victoriji.

Od 1980. godine predaje hrvatski jezik u Victorian School of Languages, a od 1985. godine i u osnovnoj školi Holy Family Primary School Bell Park u Geelongu. Posljednjih 25 godina obnaša dužnost voditeljice područja inkluzivnog obrazovanja (Learning Diversity Leader) u istoj školi, pružajući potporu učenicima s posebnim potrebama.

Bivša je predsjednica Udruge učitelja hrvatskog jezika u Victoriji, čija je članica od 1996. godine. Autorica je kurikuluma hrvatskog jezika od pripremnog razreda do šestog razreda u školi Holy Family te autorica i suautorica više radnih bilježnica hrvatskog jezika za Victorian School of Languages.

Bila je članica službenih izaslanstava savezne države Victorije pri Ministarstvu znanosti i obrazovanja Republike Hrvatske 2008., 2012. i 2017. godine, s ciljem uspostave programa asistenta u nastavi i osiguravanja financijske potpore za program hrvatskog jezika integriran u redovni kurikulum škole Holy Family Bell Park u Geelongu — jedini takav program od 1978. godine.

Godine 2003. primila je priznanje savezne države Victorije za doprinos očuvanju hrvatskog jezika i identiteta.

Desde su llegada a Australia en 1978, Katica Perinac ha sido una miembro activa y comprometida de la comunidad croata en el estado de Victoria.

Desde 1980 enseña idioma croata en la Victorian School of Languages y desde 1985 también en la Holy Family Primary School Bell Park en Geelong. Durante los últimos 25 años se ha desempeñado como Learning Diversity Leader en dicha escuela, brindando apoyo a estudiantes con discapacidades.

Es ex Presidenta de la Asociación de Profesores de Idioma Croata en Victoria y miembro de la asociación desde 1996. Es autora del programa curricular de idioma croata desde el nivel preparatorio hasta sexto grado en Holy Family School, así como autora y coautora de varios cuadernos de trabajo para la Victorian School of Languages.

Formó parte de delegaciones oficiales del Estado de Victoria ante el Ministerio de Ciencia y Educación de la República de Croacia en 2008, 2012 y 2017, con el objetivo de establecer un programa de asistentes docentes y asegurar apoyo financiero para el programa de idioma croata integrado en el currículo general de Holy Family Bell Park en Geelong — el único programa de este tipo desde 1978.

En 2003 recibió un reconocimiento del Estado de Victoria por su contribución a la preservación del idioma y la identidad croata.
