Francesca Sammartino (1994) was born and raised in Montemitro (Molise), in the Croatian minority in Italy. She lives and works in Zagreb, where she moved to study. She holds degrees in Croatian and Italian Language and Literature from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Zagreb, the same Faculty where she is currently attending Postgraduate doctoral studies in linguistics and working on a dissertation about the Molise Croatian dialect. She is an Assistent at the Language Section at the Department of Italian Language and Literature at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb. She is also an active member of the cultural association “KroaTarantata” (Montemitro) and the Foundation “Agostina Piccoli” (Montemitro), where she serves as president since 2022. She studies and promotes the Molise Croatian dialect and its cultural heritage by carrying out various projects, holding lectures on the Molise Croatian minority, participating in international forums and seminars for the protection of the Croatian and European minorities and organizing cultural events in Montemitro. She has won awards by the Croatian Center in Vienna (2015), the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb (2017; 2018; 2020) and the University of Zagreb (2019).

Francesca Sammartino (1994.) rođena je i odrasla u Mundimitru (Molise), u hrvatskoj manjini u Italiji. Živi i radi u Zagrebu, gdje se preselila radi studija. Završila je Kroatistiku i Talijanistiku na Filozofskom fakultetu Sveučilišta u Zagrebu, a na istom Fakultetu trenutačno pohađa poslijediplomski doktorski studij Lingvistike i radi na disertaciji o moliškohrvatskome govoru. Asistentica je na Katedri za talijanski jezik na Odsjeku za talijanistiku Filozofskog fakulteta u Zagrebu. Aktivna je članica folklornog društva „KroaTarantata“ (Mundimitar) i Zaklade „Agostina Piccoli“ (Mundimitar), čija je predsjednica od 2022. godine. Znanstveno istražuje moliškohrvatski govor i promiče moliškohrvatski govor i kulturnu baštinu provođenjem raznorodnih projekata, održavanjem predavanja o moliškohrvatskoj manjini, sudjelovanjem na međunarodnim forumima i seminarima za zaštitu hrvatskih i europskih manjina i organiziranjem kulturnih manifestacija u Mundimitru. Dobitnica je nagrada Hrvatskog centra u Beču (2015), Filozofskog fakulteta u Zagrebu (2017; 2018; 2020) i Sveučilišta u Zagrebu (2019).

Francesca Sammartino (1994) nació y creció en Montemitro (Molise), en la minoría croata en Italia. Vive y trabaja en Zagreb, donde se mudó para realizar sus estudios. Se graduó en Lengua y Literatura Croata e Italiana en la Facultad de Humanidades y Ciencias Sociales de la Universidad de Zagreb y en la misma Facultad actualmente cursa el doctorado en Lingüística y está trabajando en una disertación sobre el idioma croata de Molise. Es investigadora en la Cátedra de Lengua Italiana del Departamento de Lengua y Literatura Italianas de la Facultad de Humanidades y Ciencias Sociales de Zagreb. Es miembro activo de la asociación cultural “KroaTarantata” (Montemitro) y de la Fundación “Agostina Piccoli” (Montemitro), de la que es presidenta desde 2022. Investiga el idioma croata de Molise y promueve el idioma y el patrimonio cultural croatas de Molise realizando diversos proyectos, dictando clases sobre la minoría croata de Molise, participando en foros y seminarios internacionales para la protección de las minorías croatas y europeas y organizando eventos culturales en Montemitro. Ha ganado premios del Centro Croata de Viena (2015), la Facultad de Humanidades y Ciencias Sociales de Zagreb (2017; 2018; 2020) y la Universidad de Zagreb (2019).
