Born in Vukovar, Croatia. Following the completion of a technical secondary school education, Dario graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Zagreb. After working briefly in high school, he has spent most of his professional career in the public sector, in local and regional government and in public policy work in education, organizing formal and informal youth programs and projects. From 2017 he has served State Office for Croats outside the Republic of Croatia as Chief of the Sector for Implementation and Supervision of Programs and Projects and, Preparation and Implementation of Programs and Projects for Croats living outside the Republic of Croatia.

In September 2019 Dario was appointed Deputy State Secretary to the Central State Office for Croats outside the Republic of Croatia.
