Artist

Ankica Perge Karačić is a graduate of the School of Applied Arts, Department of Textile Design (1970) and the Academy of Fine Arts in Novi Sad (1977). As a fashion designer she has received numerous awards and recognitions in Milan, Ljubljana, Belgrade and Skopje, and as an art teacher she has been recognized and awarded China, Japan and India. At the end of 1991, because of the war in Croatia, she went to Germany, where she has been recognized as a distin-guished painter and art teacher. She has exhibited her work in Germany, South Korea, China, Azerbaijan, France, the Nether-lands, Peru, Iran, Switzerland, Italy, Croatia and Serbia. As a member of the International Creative Artists Association (ICAA) she is appointed Director of ICAA for Croatia. As an art teacher she has participated in over fifty German state school projects and regularly runs painting classes and workshops for children at Croatian Catholic Mission and Croatian associa-tions in Germany. From 2000 she has organized an annual art competition for children who attend Croatian language classes drawn from Croatia’s global diaspora.
