Call for Nominations: Croatian Women of Influence Award
[:en]Toronto, ON, Canada & Zagreb, Republic of Croatia, September 6, 2016 – The Croatian Women’s Network is pleased to advise that nominations are now open for the second annual Croatian Women of Influence Award and the Top 20-Under-20 Future Leaders Award. The search is on for accomplished leaders in academia, arts and culture, business, leadership and innovation, the military, philanthropy and sport.“Connecting, celebrating and elevating awareness of distinguished women globally has had a tremendously positive impact on award winners and general consciousness about their achievements,” said Caroline Spivak, Founder of Croatian Women’s Network and the Croatian Women of Influence awards. “We are committed to showcasing the important contributions of Croatian women in all facets of society.”
The Croatian Women of Influence Award recognizes leadership, innovation and community impact of women of Croatian ancestry and will be conferred to distinguished women from the Republic of Croatia and the vast Croatian diaspora. A companion Top-20-Under-20 Future Leaders award will be conferred to enterprising young women from the ages of 16-20. Winners have the opportunity to partner with a network champion and mentor to assist them in developing their projects and future undertakings.
Nomination forms are available at www.CroatianWomensNetwork.org/Nominate and will be accepted up until midnight local time on Monday, October 10, 2016.
Awards will be presented at a gala event on International Women’s Day, Wednesday, March 8, 2017
in Zagreb, Republic of Croatia following a day-long conference: Advancing Women, Advancing Economies. Realize the Potential!
Twenty women from Croatia and from Croatian diaspora communities in Australia, Canada, Germany, South America, the United Kingdom, the United States, and the United Arab Emirates received the inaugural awards in March 2016.
The Croatian Women’s Network (www.CroatianWomensNetwork.org) is a forum for the advancement and empowerment of women. The Croatian Women’s Network and the Croatian Women of Influence Award connect distinguished women of Croatian ancestry from around the world to celebrate their achievements and to inspire, champion and mentor younger generations.

Nagrade su utemeljene kako bi ukazale na angažiranost, inovativnost, vodstvo i utjecaj žena hrvatskoga podrijetla u akademskoj zajednici, humanitarnim organizacijama, oružanim snagama, poduzetništvu, umjetnosti i kulturi te sportu.
“Umrežavanje, priznanje i podizanje svijesti o utjecajnim hrvatskim ženama diljem svijeta pozitivno je utjecalo na nagrađene žene i opću svijest društva o njihovim postignućima. Cilj nam je ukazati na važan doprinos hrvatskih žena u svim aspektima društva’’, rekla je Caroline Spivak, osnivačica Mreže hrvatskih žena i utemeljiteljica nagrade ’’Utjecajne hrvatske žene’’.
Nagrada ‘’Buduće liderice’’/‘’Top-20-Under-20 Future Leaders award’’ odaje priznanje djevojkama u dobi od 16 do 20 godina. Nagrađenim djevojkama pružamo mogućnost suradnje s iskusnom mentoricom Mreže u razvoju njihovih budućih projekata.

Nakon cjelodnevne konferencije ”Napredak žena. Napredak ekonomije. Ostvari potencijal!” održat će se dodjela nagrada na svečanoj večeri prigodom obilježavanja Međunarodnog dana žena, u srijedu, 8. ožujka 2017. godine.
Dvadeset žena iz Hrvatske i hrvatskih zajednica iz Australije, Kanade, Njemačke, Južne Amerike, Ujedinjenog Kraljevstva, Sjedinjenih Američkih Država i Ujedinjenih Arapskih Emirata nagrađene su u ožujku, 2016. godine.
Mreža hrvatskih žena (www.CroatianWomensNetwork.org) je platforma koja pomaže napredovanju i osnaživanju žena. Mreža hrvatskih žena i nagrada Utjecajne hrvatske žene prepoznaje i povezuje ugledne žene hrvatskoga podrijetla diljem svijeta kako bi njihova postignuća i uspjesi nadahnuli mlađe generacije i pomogli im u ostvarenju njihovog potencijala.
