Ane Stražičić Rodriguez was born on the island of Mljet into a fisherman’s family, where daily life revolved around fishing, preparing traditional Dalmatian dishes, and producing homemade wine and olive oil.

From her grandmother, she learned the art of using Mediterranean herbs which, together with salt, pepper, and olive oil, form the foundation of Dalmatian cuisine.

In the 1980s, Ane moved to the United States, bringing with her the flavors, aromas, and culinary traditions of her homeland.

Married to Luis Rodriguez, with whom she has two children, Albert and Michell, Ane takes great pride in passing on her Croatian heritage. As a mother and cultural ambassador, she instills in her children a love for Croatia, the Croatian language, and knowledge of Croatian history, traditions, and culture.

She is deeply grateful to her husband for his unwavering support of her cultural engagement and for his own contributions to the Croatian community in New York, where he regularly assists as a professional chef at Croatian festivals and community gatherings.

Ane Stražičić Rodriguez rođena je na otoku Mljetu u ribarskoj obitelji, gdje je svakodnevni život bio ispunjen ribarenjem, pripremom tradicionalnih dalmatinskih jela te proizvodnjom domaćeg vina i maslinova ulja.

Od svoje bake naučila je koristiti mediteransko bilje koje, uz sol, papar i maslinovo ulje, čini temelj dalmatinske kuhinje.

Osamdesetih godina preselila se u Sjedinjene Američke Države, sa sobom ponijevši okuse, mirise i kulinarsku baštinu rodnoga kraja.

U braku je s Luisom Rodriguezom, s kojim ima dvoje djece, Alberta i Michell. Kao majka i ponosna Hrvatica, posvećena je prenošenju ljubavi prema Hrvatskoj, hrvatskom jeziku, povijesti, tradiciji i kulturi na svoju djecu.

Zahvalna je suprugu Luisu na njegovoj stalnoj podršci njezinu angažmanu u hrvatskoj zajednici u New Yorku, gdje i sam sudjeluje kao profesionalni kuhar na brojnim hrvatskim festivalima i druženjima.

Ane Stražičić Rodriguez nació en la isla de Mljet, en el seno de una familia de pescadores, donde la vida cotidiana giraba en torno a la pesca, la preparación de platos tradicionales dálmatas y la elaboración de vino y aceite de oliva caseros.

Gracias a su abuela aprendió el uso de hierbas mediterráneas que, junto con la sal, la pimienta y el aceite de oliva, constituyen la base de la cocina dálmata.

En la década de 1980 se trasladó a Estados Unidos, llevando consigo los sabores, aromas y tradiciones culinarias de su tierra natal.

Está casada con Luis Rodriguez, con quien tiene dos hijos, Albert y Michell. Como madre y orgullosa croata, se dedica a transmitir a sus hijos el amor por Croacia, el idioma croata, así como el conocimiento de su historia, tradiciones y cultura.

Agradece profundamente el apoyo constante de su esposo, quien también contribuye activamente a la comunidad croata en Nueva York como chef profesional en festivales y encuentros culturales.
