
Dr. Zorka Kinda-Berlaković
Prof. Dr. phil. Andrea Zorka Kinda-Berlakovich is a Burgenland Croat scholar specializing in South Slavic languages and bilingual education.
She studied South Slavic languages and literature at the Universities of Vienna, Zagreb, and Zadar, and Pedagogy, Philosophy, and Psychology at the University of Vienna. In 2002, she earned her PhD in South Slavic Languages from the University of Vienna with a dissertation focusing on bilingual education among the Burgenland Croats.
Since 1997, she has been affiliated with the Department of Slavonic Studies at the University of Vienna. In 2016, she was appointed Professor of Croatian Language and Linguistics at the University College of Teacher Education Burgenland.
Her research centers on bilingual education, language development, and the status of the Croatian language in Austria. She is the author or co-author of 10 books and approximately 100 scientific papers and publications. She has also contributed to Croatian-German dictionaries and grammar manuals.
Professor Kinda-Berlakovich serves on the editorial boards of two internationally recognized academic journals. She is a member of the Language Commission of the Scientific Institute of Burgenland Croats and serves as the Croatian scientific consultant for Austria’s nationally administered school-leaving examination (A-levels). She is also co-founder and Vice-President of the Austrian Society for Croatistics.
Prof. dr. phil. Andrea Zorka Kinda-Berlakovich znanstvenica je gradišćanskohrvatskog podrijetla specijalizirana za južnoslavenske jezike i dvojezično obrazovanje.
Studirala je južnoslavenske jezike i književnosti na sveučilištima u Beču, Zagrebu i Zadru, a pedagogiju, filozofiju i psihologiju na Sveučilištu u Beču. Doktorirala je 2002. godine na Sveučilištu u Beču s disertacijom o dvojezičnom obrazovanju gradišćanskih Hrvata.
Od 1997. godine zaposlena je na Odsjeku za slavistiku Sveučilišta u Beču. Godine 2016. imenovana je profesoricom hrvatskog jezika i jezikoslovlja na Visokoj pedagoškoj školi Gradišće (University College of Teacher Education Burgenland).
Njezini istraživački interesi obuhvaćaju dvojezično obrazovanje, razvoj jezika te položaj hrvatskog jezika u Austriji. Autorica je ili suautorica 10 knjiga i približno 100 znanstvenih radova i publikacija. Sudjelovala je u izradi hrvatsko-njemačkih rječnika i gramatičkih priručnika.
Članica je uredničkih odbora dvaju međunarodno priznatih znanstvenih časopisa. Također je članica Jezičnog povjerenstva Znanstvenog instituta gradišćanskih Hrvata te hrvatska znanstvena savjetnica za državnu maturu u Austriji. Suosnivačica je i potpredsjednica Austrijskog društva za kroatistiku.
La Prof. Dra. phil. Andrea Zorka Kinda-Berlakovich es una académica de origen croata de Burgenland, especializada en lenguas eslavas del sur y educación bilingüe.
Estudió Lenguas y Literaturas Eslavas del Sur en las universidades de Viena, Zagreb y Zadar, así como Pedagogía, Filosofía y Psicología en la Universidad de Viena. En 2002 obtuvo su doctorado en Lenguas Eslavas del Sur en la Universidad de Viena con una tesis sobre la educación bilingüe de los croatas de Burgenland.
Desde 1997 trabaja en el Departamento de Estudios Eslavos de la Universidad de Viena. En 2016 fue nombrada Profesora de Lengua y Lingüística Croata en la University College of Teacher Education Burgenland.
Sus líneas de investigación se centran en la educación bilingüe, el desarrollo lingüístico y la posición del idioma croata en Austria. Es autora o coautora de 10 libros y aproximadamente 100 artículos y publicaciones científicas. Asimismo, ha contribuido a diccionarios y manuales gramaticales croata-alemán.
Forma parte de los consejos editoriales de dos revistas académicas internacionales reconocidas. Es miembro de la Comisión de Lengua del Instituto Científico de los Croatas de Burgenland y asesora científica croata para el examen nacional de finalización de estudios secundarios (A-levels) en Austria. Es cofundadora y Vicepresidenta de la Sociedad Austríaca de Croatística.
