Goranka Horjan

Goranka Horjan is one of the leading figures in the preservation and international promotion of Croatian museum and cultural heritage. Her professional profile represents a distinguished level of leadership within the global museum community.

Her international recognition is reflected in a series of prestigious senior appointments. In September 2019, she was elected Chair of INTERCOM (International Committee on Museum Management) in Kyoto for a three-year term.

From 2016 to 2019, she served as President of the International Jury for the European Commission Awards in Cultural Heritage in the fields of education, promotion, and training.

She also held the position of President of the European Museum Forum (2012–2017) and was a Member of the Executive Board of ICOM – the International Council of Museums (2010–2016), the leading global organization representing museums and museum professionals.

Through her work, Goranka Horjan has significantly elevated the visibility and standing of Croatian museum heritage within the European and international cultural landscape.

Goranka Horjan jedna je od vodećih osoba u očuvanju i međunarodnoj promociji hrvatske muzejske i kulturne baštine. Njezin profesionalni profil predstavlja iznimno visoku razinu vodstva unutar svjetske muzejske zajednice.

Međunarodno priznanje potvrđuju njezine brojne prestižne funkcije. U rujnu 2019. godine u Kyotu je izabrana za predsjednicu INTERCOM-a (International Committee on Museum Management) na trogodišnji mandat.

Od 2016. do 2019. obnašala je dužnost predsjednice Međunarodnog žirija nagrada Europske komisije za kulturnu baštinu u području obrazovanja, promocije i osposobljavanja.

Također je bila predsjednica Europskog muzejskog foruma (2012.–2017.) te članica Izvršnog odbora ICOM-a – Međunarodnog vijeća muzeja (2010.–2016.), vodeće svjetske organizacije koja okuplja muzeje i muzejske stručnjake.

Svojim djelovanjem značajno je pridonijela jačanju međunarodnog ugleda i prepoznatljivosti hrvatske muzejske baštine u europskom i svjetskom kulturnom prostoru.

Su reconocimiento internacional se refleja en una serie de cargos de gran prestigio. En septiembre de 2019 fue elegida Presidenta de INTERCOM (Comité Internacional para la Gestión de Museos) en Kioto, para un mandato de tres años.

Entre 2016 y 2019 presidió el Jurado Internacional de los Premios de la Comisión Europea en el ámbito del Patrimonio Cultural en las áreas de educación, promoción y formación.

Asimismo, fue Presidenta del Foro Europeo de Museos (2012–2017) y miembro del Consejo Ejecutivo del ICOM – Consejo Internacional de Museos (2010–2016), la principal organización mundial que representa a museos y profesionales del sector.

Con su labor ha contribuido significativamente a posicionar el patrimonio museístico croata en el escenario cultural europeo e internacional.
