Stela Jokić is a tenured professor and Vice-Dean for Marketing and Business Cooperation at the Faculty of Food Technology at the University of Osijek. Her research focuses on sustainable extraction techniques for bioactive compounds from plant materials, such as medicinal herbs, marine organisms, and food industry by-products, with applications in the pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and food industries. She has published over 200 research papers and 20 book chapters and has led 15 research projects valued at several million euros. Prof. Jokić has mentored seven PhD students and hosted researchers from across Europe. She has established excellent collaborations with various external stakeholders and industry partners, which have significantly contributed to the practical application of her research. She is the Editor-in-Chief of the Croatian Journal of Food Science and Technology and is ranked among the top 2% of most cited scientists globally. She has frequently promoted science through various media, as well as through popular lectures at numerous conferences and workshops. She was the driving force behind establishing the University of Osijek’s first Pharmacy program. She has received prestigious national and international awards for her work.

Stela Jokić je redovita profesorica i prodekanica za promidžbu i suradnju s gospodarstvom na Prehrambeno-tehnološkom fakultetu Osijek. Njezino istraživanje usmjereno je na održive tehnike ekstrakcije bioaktivnih spojeva iz biljnog materijala, poput ljekovitog bilja, morskih organizama i nusproizvoda iz prehrambene industrije, s primjenama u farmaceutskoj, kozmetičkoj i/ili prehrambenoj industriji. Objavila je više od 200 znanstvenih radova i 20 poglavlja u knjigama, te je vodila 15 istraživačkih projekata ukupne vrijednosti nekoliko milijuna eura. Pod njezinim mentorstvom obranjeno je 7 doktorskih disertacija te su u njenom laboratoriju boravili brojni istraživači iz cijele Europe. Uspostavila je izvrsnu suradnju s različitim vanjskim dionicima i industrijom, što je značajno doprinijelo praktičnoj primjeni njezinog istraživanja. Glavna je urednica časopisa Croatian Journal of Food Science and Technology i svrstana je među 2% najcitiranijih znanstvenika na svijetu. Često promovira znanost putem različitih medija, kao i kroz popularna predavanja na brojnim konferencijama te organizira radionice za različite dobne skupine. Sudjelovala je u osnivanju prvog studija Farmacije na Sveučilištu u Osijeku. Za svoj rad primila je prestižne nacionalne i međunarodne nagrade.

Stela Jokić es Profesora Titular y Vicedecana de Marketing y Cooperación Empresarial en la Facultad de Tecnología de los Alimentos de Osijek. Su investigación se centra en la extracción de compuestos bioactivos mediante técnicas sostenibles a partir de fuentes naturales, como plantas medicinales, organismos marinos y subproductos de la industria alimentaria, con aplicaciones en los sectores: farmacéutico, cosmético y alimentario. Ha publicado más de 200 artículos de investigación, 20 capítulos de libros y ha dirigido 15 proyectos de investigación valorados en varios millones de euros. La profesora Jokić ha sido tutora de 7 estudiantes de doctorado y ha acogido a investigadores doctorales de toda Europa. Ha establecido excelentes colaboraciones con diversas entidades externas y socios industriales, que han contribuido significativamente a la aplicación práctica de su investigación. Es redactora jefe del Croatian Journal of Food Science and Technology y figura entre el 2% de los científicos más citados del mundo. Con frecuencia ha promovido la ciencia a través de diversos medios de comunicación, así como mediante charlas de divulgación en numerosas conferencias e impartiendo talleres. Fue la impulsora del primer programa de Farmacia de la Universidad de Osijek. Ha recibido prestigiosos premios nacionales e internacionales por su trabajo.
