Author, journalist and poet Marijana Dokoza was born in Zadar, and has lived in Mainz, Germany since 2006. She is the editor of the monthly Croatian-German Fenix Magazine and portal dedicated to Croatians living in the diaspora published in Austria, Germany, Luxemburg and Switzerland. Marijana writes regularly for the Croatian daily newspaper, Večernji List and contributes to numerous Croatian media publications including the women’s weekly Gloria and other daily newspapers. Marijana is the author of multiple poetic publications, Sjene prošlosti, Dvorac tajni three romance novels Izgubljeni u ljudskim mislima, Naranyjin plač i Grijesi with the latter being nominated for the literary award Kiklop. She has been included in the anthology of 90 contemporary writers of the Zadar writer’s circle. In 2016, the organization Casa del Sol in association with the City of Mainz named Marijana to the list of top 25 immigrant women in recognition of her shining example of success and the strength of her network..
