Marija Kuštro was born in Zagreb where she graduated from the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology (FCET) with a master’s degree in Environmental engineering, from the University of Zagreb in September 2023. During her studies, she was an active organizer and project manager in the Student Section of Chemical Engineers and Technologists. She is the winner of the Rector’s Award for individual and artistic work, “Tomislav Cvitaš” Award for the best poster presentation and won 3rd place at the International Scientific and Sports Competition „Technology 2022“ in the scientific part of the competition. With her work, she contributes to the scientific research work at the Department of Industrial Ecology at FCET and participates in professional meetings and congresses with poster presentations. Her field of work is related to the biodegradation of microplastics and the toxicity of xenobiotics to organisms. She participated in several international and national scientific meetings, as well as in workshops for children.

Marija Kuštro rođena je u Zagrebu gje je završila u rujnu 2023. Fakultet kemijskog inženjerstva i tehnologije (FKIT) kao magistra inženjerka ekoinženjerstva, Sveučilišta u Zagrebu. Tijekom studiranja bila je aktivna organizatorica i voditeljica projekata u Studentskoj sekciji kemijskih inženjera i tehnologa. Dobitnica je Rektorove nagrade za individualni i umjetnički rad, Nagrade „Tomislav Cvitaš“ za najbolju poster prezentaciju i osvojila je 3. mjesto na Međunarodnom znanstveno-sportskom natjecanju „Tehnologijada 2022.“ u znanstvenom djelu natjecanja. Svojim radom pridonosi znanstveno-istraživačkom radu na Zavodu za industrijsku ekologiju na FKIT-u te sudjeluje na stručnim skupovima i kongresima posterskim priopćenjima. Njezino područje rada vezano je uz biorazgradnju mikroplastike i toksičnost ksenobiotika na organizme. Sudjelovala je na više međunarodnih i domaćih znanstvenih skupova, kao i na radionicama za djecu.

Marija Kuštro nació en Zagreb donde se graduó en septiembre de 2023 en la Facultad de Ingeniería y Tecnología Químicas (FITQ) con una maestría en Ingeniería Ambiental de la Universidad de Zagreb. Durante sus estudios fue activa organizadora y gestora de proyectos en la Sección Estudiantil de Ingenieros y Tecnólogos Químicos. Ganó el Premio del Rector por su trabajo individual y artístico, el Premio “Tomislav Cvitaš” a la mejor presentación de carteles y obtuvo el 3er lugar en el Concurso Científico y Deportivo Internacional “Tecnología 2022” en la parte científica del concurso. Con su trabajo contribuye a la labor de investigación científica del Departamento de Ecología Industrial de la FITQ y participa en reuniones y congresos profesionales con presentaciones de carteles. Su campo de trabajo está relacionado con la biodegradación de microplásticos y la toxicidad de los xenobióticos para los organismos. Participó en varios encuentros científicos internacionales y nacionales, así como en talleres para niños.
