Maria serves as the Executive Director of the Slavenska Dance Preservation, yet her greatest accomplishment might have been her roles as Producer, Director and Writer of Mia, A Dancer’s Odyssey, a biography of her mother, renowned Croatian ballerina Mia Slavenska. The elder Ms. Slavenska died believing she had been completely forgotten by the world. Maria’s film is the fulfillment of a promise she made to tell her mother’s story. Maria’s first love is education, and whatever her future projects we can be sure that they will share stories of the indomitable human strength and triumph over adversity.
